Best neighbourhoods near Pearson for a layover

Short answer: For a layover or an early/late flight at Toronto Pearson (YYZ), the most convenient bases are northeast Mississauga and southern Brampton — both roughly 10–20 minutes from the terminals. For groups and families, a home with parking, a full kitchen and flexible check-in is far more comfortable than an airport hotel.

Closest areas to the terminals

Area	Approx. drive to YYZ	Best for
Northeast Mississauga	~10–15 min	Earliest departures; quick, quiet base near the airport.
Southern Brampton	~15–20 min	Larger homes and parking for groups in transit.
Square One / central Mississauga	~15–20 min	Dining and shopping for a longer layover.

What to look for in a layover stay

• Genuinely close to the terminals — under 20 minutes so an early alarm still means a relaxed morning.
• Parking — every Canterra Stays house has driveway parking with a Ring security camera covering it; there is no extra parking beyond the spaces at the home, so a group leaving vehicles behind should ask us for the count first.
• Flexible check-in/out — complimentary early check-in and late check-out when the calendar allows, built for odd-hour flights.
• A full kitchen — feed a family or crew without hunting for late-night food.
• Room to rest — separate bedrooms beat a single hotel room for a group passing through.

Layover, with a group?

A short stop with several travellers is exactly where a home wins over a hotel: one address, driveway parking at our houses, a kitchen for a quick meal, and beds for the whole group. Canterra Stays' airport-friendly homes — from 1-bedroom suites to larger family homes — sit minutes from Pearson and check you in and out around your flight, not the front desk's schedule.
